Project #2 update.

Well things are moving along nicely here. The blanket is very close to being completed! Many thanks to Mum (Sue) for her evenings spent adding the white round around each square. The assembly process was quite quick this time as we were introduced to a new joining technique, all completed in one evening! Thankyou very much Sandra for your suggestion. So here are a few pictures to show you the assembly process.

randomly placed squares, already rounded with the white.

The last 3 squares recieved, from Sandra. A before photo was not taken before they were rounded and joined. If you look close enough you can see how pretty the border looks once joined!

A evening of assembly, with a few essentials to keep us going. Thanks to Sara, Sue and Heidi for your company and help with this part.

All joined and looking pretty special
(with project #3 in the background, love all this beautiful crochet in my house!)

Project 3 Beginnings!

Hello everyone. We are working on 2 blankets here at the same time, now that's multi-tasking! So here I am able to share with you the beginnings of Project #3. I was quite nervous about how this project would turn out, seeing as its such a different concept to the basic granny squares. But my fears seem to be unfounded as the squares coming in look FANTASTIC! You were all welcome to make whatever pattern you'd like as long as the colours and size were to specific requirements. Colour theme again was from Design Seeds

So here are a handful of squares for you all to drool over! Well done ladies!

All of them together so far!

Project 2 Beginnings!

Hello everyone! Im excited to share with you the progress of the next Squares with Prayers project. The theme for the colours was chosen from this lovely site called Design Seeds, such beautiful inspiring colours there! And here is a picture below of the colours we are working with for this project.
The deadline is for this coming Saturday, and the squares are coming in thick and fast! Im loving the way that it is looking so far!

Unfortunately, we've had a little hiccup in the process of photographing the individual incoming squares. I had like last project, taken a picture of each person's work with their name included, but Ive just discovered that a little Miss 2.5 year old, aka 'Sticky-fingers' has somehow managed to delete most of the pictures!!!!! And now Ive mixed them all up together, I am unable determine whos are who's, I do apologise for this! So I can only share with you the 3 pictures that she didnt manage to delete, and here they are below. I would also like to thank Kirilee, Sue, Riek, Trudy, Evelyn, Yvonne and Denise dV for their contributions!!! I will be sure to keep the camera out of Sticky-fingers' reach so it doesn't happen again.

All the 'nameless' squares mixed up!!!

While Im waiting for the rest of the squares to arrive, Im  puting a round of white around each of these squares, which will define each square and be part of the border when comes the time for joining. I will keep you all up to date over the next day or two with how that is going!
Thankyou again everyone!

Joined, darned and on its way!

Wow, what a busy fortnight we've had! I've been promising updates on the progress of the blanket, and you have all probably wondered why it's been so quiet around here. But fear not! The hooks have been going 100 miles an hour and the blanket is now ready to be passed on to its new owner!

So here is a run-down of what has been happening in pictures:

The prep-work before the first evening of joining was to plot and label each square.

Two enjoyable evenings were spent slip stitching the squares together, along with cuppas, muffins and a lot of chatting! Thankyou so much to Bec, Heidi and Johanna for your time and effort spent in this part of the project!

Picture above taken about half way through the joining process.

Once all joined together, I worked 3 rounds of border.
And then an evening or two was spent darning in all the ends from the joining process.
 The 'ta daa' picture!

Picked up this pretty box and a bit of tissue paper for a filler,
and now its ready to go!

Thankyou so much to everyone who partook of this project, it has been a fantastic experience!
And I have truly appreciated everyones help to get it done.
